An official Royal Mail Redirection can only be obtained online via royalmail.com/redirection or in person from a Post Office, with the exception of Redirection linked to domestic abuse, which should only be obtained via Royal Mail telephone contact (see Keeping your identify safe > Domestic abuse section).

How does post redirection work?
If you're moving house, you'll want to make sure your mail goes too. Our mail Redirection Service will forward your post to your new address whether it's at home or abroad. Make sure to return your application, along with the payment, at least five days before you want the service to start.
Depending on what kind of service the sender has selected you'll either be able to divert to a safe place or neighbour or neighbour only. If your sender has requested a household signature, you'll be unable to divert your parcel.
