How do I leave delivery instructions for UPS?

What happens if UPS delivers and your not home?
Shipments that do not require a signature can be left in a safe place, out of sight and out of weather, at the driver's discretion. This could include the front porch, side door, back porch, garage area, or with a neighbor or leasing office (which would be noted in a yellow UPS InfoNotice® left by the driver).
You may also change your delivery address on ups.com. Select the Tracking tab and enter your 12-digit InfoNotice number (found above the barcode) in the Tracking or InfoNotice numbers field, and select the Track button. On the Tracking Summary page, select the Change Delivery button.
Does UPS leave a note if your not home?
If the package couldn't simply be left, the tracking status will show UPS InfoNotice was left. If no InfoNotice is present, it means the package either hasn't been delivered or has been lost or misplaced. If your package's status shows a missing delivery, your first step is to contact the shipper.

Members of UPS My Choice can use the live map called “Follow My Delivery” to view the location of selected packages in relation to the delivery address. Users receive emails to the email address in their personal USPS.com® account containing grayscale images of the exterior, address side of up to 10 pieces of incoming letter-sized mail that is arriving soon. What happens if a package needs a signature and no one is home?
If a shipment requires, either an indirect, direct or adult signature, and a delivery attempt is made, but no one is there to sign for the package, the driver will leave a door tag at the recipient's door.
Delivery Confirmation: UPS will provide confirmation of delivery without the recipient's signature. Note: Similar information is available when you track your package online. Signature Required: UPS will obtain the recipient's signature and provide you with a printed copy.
How long does it take for UPS to change delivery address?
Although mail forwarding may begin within 3 business days of your submitted request, it's best to allow up to 2 weeks. Mail will be forwarded to your new address as it comes, piece by piece.
We do not charge to redirect packages to UPS customer centers, The UPS Store locations, or UPS Access Point locations. UPS My Choice members will have a fee for delivery change requests to any other addresses. Please know changing the delivery address of your package could delay your scheduled delivery date.

UPS will make three attempts to deliver your package on three separate business days. In most cases, you must be present and provide a signature to receive your package. If you check the tracking number on fedex or UPS it should tell you whether a signature is required or noT.
