Is it safe to travel to Vaishno Devi?
Absolutely safe. About 20-30000 visitors come early day.
Please do not treat it as a picnic or a vacation. Refrain from smoking, liquor, chewing tobacco and betel leaves, spitting, spreading litter, playing cards etc. Avoid carrying too much cash, jewelry and valuables and don't trust strangers with belongings. Don't write on the walls.
Who controls Vaishno Devi shrine?
The temple is governed by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), chaired by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir in August 1986. It is one of the most visited pilgrimage centers of India.
