What is an irregular package?
An irregular package is basically anything outside of normal packaging, dimensions, and weights for both USPS and UPS services. Some examples of these kinds of packages are mailing tubes, or anything that isn't inside a cardboard box, envelope, or poly mailer.
Minimum: 5 inches long, 3+1/2 inches high, and 0.007 inches thick. Maximum: 11+1/2 inches long, 6+1/8 inches high, and 1/4 inch thick.
Does UPS box size matter shipping?

Does UPS charge by weight or size?
The sum of the weight of all packages is considered as one shipment. Shipment Pricing does not apply to UPS Express Envelopes, as these cannot be part of a multiple-package shipment.
For domestic shipments, a package is considered a "Large Package" when its length (longest side of the package) plus girth [(2 x width) + (2 x height)] combined exceeds 130 inches or its length exceeds 96 inches.
What's the difference between the express envelope and the non express envelopes?
In standard shipping, the regular delivery time ranges from two to eight days, while in express shipping it is around one day as the product is shipped via air couriers. What happens if package dimensions are wrong?
If the shipment exceeds the maximum weight or dimensions allowed it will not be shipped to the destination, and most likely the carrier will require either the sender or the receiver to pick it up from their facilities.
A package's billable weight will be the greater of its actual or DIM weight. When it comes to DIM weight, every inch matters.
