What is FSS rules and regulations?
The Food Safety & Standards Act, 2006 defines Food Safety as an "assurance that food is acceptable for human consumption according to its intended use." Food Safety ensures that food is safe for human consumption and involves handling, preparation, and storage of food in ways that prevent food borne illness.
In October 2021, new food Safety Regulations known as Natasha's Law will come into effect meaning that there will be stricter requirements for pre-packaged food labelling. Under this law, ingredients must be listed on individual packaging of food which is pre-packed for direct sale (PPDS).
