What happens if you miss DHL delivery Canada?
If you missed a delivery, you'll find a DHL missed-delivery card in your mailbox. Our DHL courier will automatically return the next workday. If you also missed our second delivery attempt, you can collect your parcel at a DHL location.
You can arrange redelivery via the DHL website here. You'll need the tracking number from your dispatch email. If you don't arrange a redelivery DHL will attempt to deliver again on the next working day.
What happens if I miss delivery DHL?
If there is no one available to accept the parcel, our DHL courier will leave a calling card at the address informing the receiver that they tried to deliver a parcel. The receiver can either collect the parcel from their local DHL Service Point or arrange another delivery.
If the scheduled delivery time isn't convenient for you, or if you'd rather collect your parcel from a DHL ServicePoint, use the My DHL app to change the time and location of delivery with ease. You can do this starting on the day before your scheduled delivery.
How many times do DHL try to deliver?
If you have missed our driver, they'll leave a card notifying you that they'll try to deliver again the next workday. If there's no one at home on the second delivery attempt, the driver will leave a card stating that you can collect the parcel at a DHL sorting center.

Does DHL leave packages at the door?
Yes, DHL delivers to your door. Even though the parcel is meant to be delivered directly to the end-user, it passes through many stages. The parcel sent by the sender is accumulated in one area and then shipped to the destination hub. At the destination hub, the parcels are segregated based on the end-users address.

DHL does not have access to Canada Post PO boxes so they can only deliver to civic addresses. You can ship to a PO box with Canada Post or another postal service, so you should choose Canada Post over a private courier such as DHL if you need the shipment delivered to a PO box.

If your package is marked as attempted delivery, don't worry! The driver will typically try again the next business day. If you're still not home or available to accept the package, the driver will leave a notice with information on how to arrange a future delivery or pick-up.15-Jun-2022
Why does my package say attempted delivery?
This is where a driver tried to deliver your item but was unable to because either: no-one was home. the front door was not easily accessible (e.g. gated property, pets, secure apartment block).
A failed delivery attempt means that the driver tried to drop off the package at its designated address and was unable to do so.
Does DHL deliver after 6pm?
DHL delivery hours are between 8 AM to 6 PM, Monday to Friday in the US. DHL doesn't offer weekend or holiday delivery in the US, unless you're willing to pay extra and make special arrangements. For international shipments, DHL Express Service point locations are open from 9 AM to 6 PM.19-Mar-2021
Our courier will inspect the shipment when the pickup is made. If improvements in packaging are necessary, the courier may request that you modify the packaging or may refuse the pickup. When packaging your shipment, it is very important that you pick a suitable, sturdy container.
